Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte from Bordeaux
Vines have been grown here as early as 1365. In the 18th century the estate was purchased by a Scotsman who gave the Château its present name. Today the property is owned by former downhill ski champions and art collectors, Florence and Daniel Cathiard, who purchased Château Smith Haut Lafitte in 1990. Daniel Cathiard combined modern winemaking techniques — both in the vineyard and the cellar — and age-old methods to produce one of the top wines of the region.
We love nothing more than sharing the magic from one of our favorite wineries from Bordeaux!
Tasting: Four wines, including two Château Smith Haut Lafitte, Grand Cru Classé cuvées, Le Petit Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc and the Le Petit Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge; served with a small cheese plate.
